BOUCHERCON ON THE BAY
San Francisco, Hyatt Regency Embarcadero Center

Bouchercon is the world’s biggest general mystery conference, and a show you simply shouldn’t miss. If you can’t do San Francisco this year, don’t worry—it’s in St. Louis in 2011.

MEN OF MYSTERY
Irvine, CA, Irvine Marriott (Orange County)

With 50 authors, 500 attendees, and a truly lovely person in the form of organizer Joan Hansen, this is my single favorite single-day book conference. I had to miss 2009 because of the flu—drat!—but will be there in 2010 if I have to drag an oxygen tank.

COMPLETED 2010 EVENTS

July 7-10, 2010 (Wednesday-Saturday)

THRILLERFEST V
New York City, Grand Hyatt Hotel
http://www.thrillerfest.org

As chairman of ThrillerFest, I’ll be appearing at events throughout this four-day celebration of thrillers, the authors who write them, and the fans who read them. Please stop me in the hall and say hello, I’d genuinely like to meet you. I'll be there all four days, but here's where I'll appear specifically:

All day Wednesday and Thursday: I'll introduce instructors at CraftFest, then preside over AgentFest, of which I am director.

6-7:30 p.m. Friday: ITW publications reception and cocktail party, featuring the authors of this year's ITW special publications, including Thrillers: 100 Must-Reads, for which I proudly contributed a profile of my favorite author: John Sandford of the "Prey" series. In fact, you can read my Sandford profile for FREE by clicking:

12:15-1 p.m. Saturday: I host an interactive Q-and-A with legendary authors Clive Cussler and Sandra Brown . . . with the readers setting the tone! Think of me as Oprah, stalking the room with a microphone, digging out fun questions from the audience.

12:45-2:15 p.m. Saturday: My publisher, Kensington Books, is sponsoring Saturday's soft-drink break at ThrillerFest. Come grab a cold one and say hello, I'll be hanging around.

2-2:50 p.m. Saturday: I'm on an author panel called "What's Love Got to Do With It?" in which Erica Spindler, Rebecca York and the rest of the gang (led by panel host Andrew Gross) explore love and romance in hard-core thriller books. Come see what I have to say about this eternally fascinating topic.

Saturday night banquet: See me snarf up food and wine like I hadn't eaten in a week! Then, I'll present one of the coveted Thriller Awards. Gonna be a great night; if you haven't bought your ticket to attend the banquet, do so now at www.thrillerfest.org. You won't regret it, I promise.
